The Rock Lady of Silverdale

This whole journey started simply, during a difficult time. Back in 2020, as COVID began, I found myself quarantining in a separate room while my husband was going through cancer treatment. To pass the time and keep my spirits up, I started painting rocks.

I’d place them on my mailbox, a small, bright gesture for the local neighbor kids. What happened next was truly heartwarming: they began leaving blank rocks on my doorstep with notes and requests! That exchange evolved into something much bigger—a desire to create a lasting, safe space for our community to continue that spontaneous creativity. I hand out my rocks wherever I go. I also make rocks and hand them out at holidays instead of candy. Because of this, I am known as the Rock Lady.

Time has passed, and I'm thrilled to share that I've purchased a local property to build the Art Rocks, LLC studio. This space will be a haven for creativity, offering much-needed services like art therapy, engaging classes, fun paint & sip events, and quality art supplies.

While the studio is being built, we're using this online space to document the entire process. We invite you to follow along as we build a physical place that grew from a tiny, sincere act of hope right here in Silverdale. Currently, I’m working out of my garage, and I’m only taking classes by appointment.
